My native village is situated in Astrakhan
History of my village began 155 years ago. There was not any water and trees on these lands.
People began to built their houses, plant flowers in the steppe. These houses are more than one hundred years old.
My native village is famous for fruits, vegetables, water-melons
Our villagers glorified their home place with heroic actions.They went to the front during the Great Patriotic War and other war actions.
Many doctors, teachers, oilmen, builders, fishermen have finished our school. Some of them live and work in Yandyki now.
W.I.Galatenko is a famous painter now. He lives and works in Moscow. Our fellow villager
He spent his childhood in Yandyki.
His mother liked to paint, she could embroider very well. Her sense of beauty was given to her son.
Volodya,s first impression was a blossoming iris between grey sand in the steppe.
He likes to paint flowers. They are very important for him.
These native landscapes are dear to him.
In his pictures we can recognize our houses, streets, small bridges.
W.I.Galatenko doesn’t forget his native village and often visits it . We are very glad to see him at our school. We are proud of him very much
Villagers supported his idea to create a museum of history in Yandyki in this old building after its repairing. Before the revolution it was a private shop.
There are many talented and wonderful people in my small homeland and they will be able to glorify it.
