Capital punishment is the execution of a person by judicial process as a punishment for an offense.

Religious views Islamic law may require capital punishment for rape, treason, apostasy, piracy, adultery. Christians are free to make a personal decision on that point because Christian position on execution is not clear.Judaism approves the death penalty in principle.
