Claude Monet was born on 14 November 1840 in Paris, France.In 1851, at the age of eleven, Monet entered Le Havre secondary school of the arts. Monet met Camille Doncieux in 1866 and painted her portrait. This painting brought fame to him. They married in June of 1870. Monet painted the well-known landscape “Impression. Sunrise” in 1872. This painting has entitled group of impressionists and has been shown at the first impressionistic exhibition in 1874. Camille died of a tuberculosis in 1879 and Monet married Alise Oshede.Claude Monet died in 1926 from lung cancer. He is buried in the cemetery of the Giverny church.
