I’d like to tell you about the Youth movement. Firstly Punks are opposed to the values, norms and materialism in the society. Besides they express this in loud and violent music, and moreover strange clothing and hair of unusual colours. It was organized in 1970 – 1980.
Goths have black or purple hair, and moreover black lipstick and fingernails. They see the world as a dark place and like it that way. It was organized in 1980 – 1990.
Hippies don’t conform to society’s standards, showing this by dressing in unusual clothes, having long hair and living in groups together. It was organized in 1960 – 1970.
I’d like to tell about Straight edge. Straight edge don’t want to follow the usual routes of teenage rebellion. Originally being a “straight edge” meant that you didn’t drink, smoke or take drugs.
To sum up. I disagree with these groups. But sadly some people have another opinion, moreover they join to these groups. I think they make a mistake in the life. As for me I want to be helpful in the society.
In our school there is a youth organizations. We have a self-government at school, so to speak the students govern by school them-selves. We have a President of school, and every class (republic) has its President’s Council.
We make many meetings concerts, parties, competitions at school. We have a great dance club “Rainbow” which participate in many dance competitions in our region and in other towns. We were in Moscow, Lipetsk, Belgorod.
We also have many parties in English. We participate in many competitions in English in Tambov such as poetry, acting, singing competitions. We were awarded by the prizes for “The best Acting ” for the participation in singing. We use these presents on the English lessons. We also like to work with computer on the English lessons.
