Тема: «Столица Великобритании» Урок входит в учебную ситуацию “Learning More About London”Это первый урок по плану и его подтема «Столица Великобритании»Урок - введение новой темы и её первичное закрепление (работа по фильму Window on Britain) . Основная цель урока - развитие личности учащегося, способного и желающего участвовать в межкультурной коммуникации по заданной темеКомпоненты цели урока:образовательная: первичное знакомство и закрепление основных названий достопримечательностей Лондона, активизация лексических навыков по данной теме;развивающая: развитие умения аудировать с целью извлечения конкретной информации, понимания основного содержания фильма, развитие навыков чтения, развитие навыков диалогической речи;воспитательная: воспитание уважения, понимания и толерантности к культуре страны изучаемого языка; приобретение опыта и чувства ответственности при работе в парах;

Оборудование урока   УМК 5 класс Биболетова М.З., мультимедиапроектор, маркерная доска, фильм “Window on Britain”, картины с достопримечательностями, карта Великобритании, дидактический раздаточный материал.

Glad to meet you. How are you today? Today we’ll speak about one of the biggest capitals of the world. 2. Речевая зарядка. Let us look at the map. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

I want to ask you some questions. You must be quick and attentive. Работа: учитель - классT: What country is it?T: What is the capital of this country?P1: It is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.P2: London is the capital of UK.Yes, you are quiet right. It’s Great Britain and the capital is London. The topic of our lesson.

3.Фонетическая зарядка She sells sea shells at the sea shore.        The shells she sells are surely sea shells.        So if she sells shells on the seashore,        I'm sure she sells seashore shells.Swan swam over the sea,Swim, swan, swim.Swan swam back again.Well swum, swan!A bear and a bunny had plenty of moneyThat went to the store for carrots and honey.When the bear and the bunny Asked for "Carrots and honey!" The man of the store cried: "Where is your money?".How strange and how funny! They really had money!And that's how they bought their carrots and honey.

- We shall start our lesson with the English sounds. You will work in pairs and remember three words with each sound. T: раздает учащимся по 3 звука на каждую пару учащихся. Задание для учащихся: назвать звук и три английских слова с этим звуком.[æ]- travel, capital, gallery; [ei] - play, place, stadium; [ju:] - museum, new, beautiful; [i] - big, pig, different; [a:] - park, car, partner; [eq] - square, where, hare; [i:] - see, meet, week.

4. Today we will discover places of interest in London. Before watching the film let`s read the words (слайд) and compare them with the Russian: (слушание и повторение за учителем, проходит работа по цепочке, первичная отработка ЛЕ и т.п.)

 5.Now, it is time to watch a film. The film is about Britain, especially London. After reading you will name the main places of interest in London and do the task on the screen board. (Учащимся предлагается ознакомиться с заданием на маркерной доске, такие же карточки раздаются каждому ученику. Задание: заполните пропуски после просмотра фильма. Фильм “Window on Britain” очень интересный, красочный с хорошим английским языком, понятным для пятиклассников)

 6.Учащиеся выходят к маркерной доске, составляют словосочетания, услышанные по фильму. Они могут пользоваться картинками, представленными на доске, а также предыдущим слайдом со словами. Затем проходит отработка произношения названий достопримечательностей, выписывание их в словарик c транскрипцией и переводом. Параллельно ведется работа с лингвистическим справочником. 8. Совершенствование навыков чтения: The students are divided into pairs. Each pair is given a text about London. The students read it in turn. Then answer questions London is the capital of Great Britain. It is the largest city in Britain and one of the largest cities in the world. It is a very old city. It is two thousand years old. About 9 million people live in London. London is a big port. It is situated on the river Thames. There are 3 parts in London: the City, the West and the East End.The City is the heart of the business and financial life of the country. About half a million people work in the City. There are many offices, firms and banks in this part of London.The West End is the centre of London. There are many sights there. Here are the historical palaces and the famous parks such as Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St. James's Park. In the West End you can see Buckingham Palace, the Palace of Westminster, which is the seat of Parliament.The clock “Big Ben” came into service in 1859. Big Ben is the biggest clock bell in Britain. It weighs 13.5 tons.Westminster Abbey was founded in 1050. Newton, Darwin are buried here. . The official London residence of the Queen is Buckingham Palace. It was built in the 18th century.There are many nice squares in London. Trafalgar Square is one of them. It is in the centre of the West End. One can see a statue of lord Nelson in the middle of it.There are many museums, libraries and galleries in London. The Tate Gallery is one of the well-known galleries in London. Henry Tate was a sugar manufacturer. He was fond of paintings and collected many pictures.The British Museum is a very interesting place in London. It was founded in 1753. The library of this museum has a lot of books.The West End is the part of London, where rich people live. It is the area of the largest department stores, cinemas and hotels.The East End is the district for poor people, workers, dockers. There are many factories, workshops, docks there.One can say that the City is the money of London, The West End is the goods of London, The East End is the hands of  London.The students tell what new information they have learned about London. Answer the questions: What is the capital of Great Britain?How many parts are there in London? What are they?Where are places of interest situated? Which district is for working people?Where is the official residence of the Queen?What is the name of the biggest clock in Britain?

9. Совершенствование навыков диалогической речи. The students make up dialogues. A student “A” has come to London to visit a friend and ask about the city and places of interest. A student “ B” advises what to see in London. (Textbook, ex.4, p. 61)

10. Homework  To make a cluster: what associations do you have when you think of   London.
