PointillismPointillism is a form of painting in which tiny dots of primary colors are used to generate secondary colors. It is an offshoot of Impressionism, and is usually categorized as a form of Post-Impressionism. Pointillism is focused on the specific style of brushwork, but not on the subject.
HistoryPointillism is a painting technique, that was created by George Seurat(French,1859-1891) in 1880s and employed in his famous painting «A Sunday afternoon on La Grande Jatte»(an island in the Seine River in France)

Paul Signac was born in Paris. In creation of his first paintings he was influenced by Monet. In 1884 he took part in establishing of the «Society of independent artists» where with George Seurat founded pointillism.

The scheme of Pointillism is in sharp contrast to the traditional methods of blending pigments on a palette. Pointillism is analogous to the four-color CMYK: Cyan (blue), Magenta (red), Yellow, and Key (black) printing process. Televisions and computer monitors use a similar technique to represent image colors using Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) colors.
