My Trip to the UK
Hello! My full name is Katya Lozhkina. I’m a pupil of the 10th form. English is my favourite subject, that’s why in August 2011 I went to Great Britain to improve my English.
Language Teaching Centre, Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK I stayed here only three weeks, but I was deeply impressed by everything I saw in this country. I’m glad I made new friends there.
Eastbourne Eastbourne is the sunniest city of Great Britain. By a record amount of sunlight per year it is called as “Trap for the Sun”
Learning English isn’t easy, it took a lot of my time, but when I was free I enjoyed travelling about Great Britain with my new friends.

It’s interesting to know that I managed to play one of the ancient instruments – the piano “Allison Pianos” in the museum, which was founded in 1837 in London in Berners Street.
London Without doubt London is one of the most wonderful places which attracts people all over the world. As for me I was greatly impressed by London.
The Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament is famous for its big hour bell, known as “Big Ben”
The Houses of Parliament stretch for nearly 1000 feet along the north bank of the Thames. The Houses of Parliament
The Tower Bridge London has a lot of bridges over the Thames, more than twenty, but the most interesting of them is the Tower Bridge situated near the Tower of London
The Tower of London Once it was a royal residence, a strong fortress and a state prison. Here many people, among them two wives of Henry VIII, were imprisoned and beheaded. Now it is a museum.
London Bridge Another interesting bridge is London Bridge, which is more than six hundred years old. In the 15th century there were shops and houses on it. The modern London Bridge was built in 1973. It was officially opened by the Queen Elizabeth II. There is a memorial board on the bridge in honor of this event.
London Eye The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel situated on the banks of the river Thames. It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe and the most popular attraction in the UK. The structure is 135 meters tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 meters.
Trafalgar Square Trafalgar Square is a public place in central London. In the centre of it there is Nelson's Column. The square is also used for political demonstrations and community gatherings, such as the celebration of New Year's Eve.
My journey came to the end but I hope that I’ll return to this amazing country once again.
