Тема: «Географические, природные условия, население, официальные языки англоязычных стран»

Цели: - совершенствование умений и навыков устной речи; - расширение кругозора учащихся через лингвострановедческую информацию; - поддерживание интереса к изучению английского языка. Тип урока: комбинированный. Задачи урока: - расширять страноведческие знания по теме; - совершенствовать навык монологической речи; - активизировать лексический и орфографический навык; - развивать мышление, умение давать оценку, высказывать своё мнение на английском языке; - расширять кругозор; - воспитывать уважение и интерес к изучению английского языка. Оборудование: компьютерная презентации по теме урока, карточки с заданием по количеству учащихся; доклады.

The United States of America The United States of America is situated in the central part of the North American continent. The area of the USA is over 9 million square kilometers. The population of the United States is nearly 250 million people. Most of people live in towns. The official language of the country is English. Other minority languages include Spanish, Italian, German, Polish, Russian, American Indian tongues, Chinese and Japanese.

Climate The surface is changeable. There are a lot of deserts, meadows, mountains in the USA. There are rivers, five Great Lakes between the USA and Canada. The weather is changeable in it.

  The State symbols of the USA The USA is a federal republic, consisting of 50 states. The capital of the country is Washington. The president is the head of the state and the government. /

Cities

Chicago (Illinois) is one the biggest industrial cities in the USA.

Los Angeles is very big, noisy and famous all over the world because there is Hollywood. Hollywood is the centre of the US film industry. The most famous are Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida.

Nature You have heard of the country’s native animals. One of them is the kiwi. This interesting bird lives in the wet areas of the thick bush. Kiwis cannot fly. The kiwi is the symbol of the New Zealand people.

CITIES There are several big cities. Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin are the country’s main ports.
