Roma’s flag

The first mention of the Roma is dated 1501 year, when the gypsy leader Vasil received writ of protection from the Lithuanian Grand Duke Alexander Kazimirovich. To protect the identity and culture of the nomadic people in 1971 in London, created the International Romani Union.

Romanes The majority of the gipsy talk in language of that country in which they live. The others speak on various dialects of gipsy language.

Religion The religion for the gipsy is more important than considered to be at not the gipsy. It became appreciable within persecutions of religion by the Soviet authority. Most of the Roma is Christian or Muslim, but there are also representatives of other faiths.

Legends associated with the belief Among the Russian Roma there is a legend: when Christ was crucified, the passing gypsies stole a nail from the cross. Since that time god has allowed to steal sometimes to gypsies.

Another legend says that God loves Roma especially for their entertainment and talent, and therefore did not bind them to a piece of land, like other nations, and all world has presented for a life. Therefore the gipsy also wandered wholly to take advantage of gift of the Lord. Roma now be found on all continents except Antarctica.
